BACKGROUND:
On July 24, 2023, the City Council approved the reconfiguration of the second floor of the City Annex Building. This initiative will furnish and outfit that floor with new seating and workstations to support daily operations.
Following the Fleet and Facilities Department’s recommendation, we are standardizing the furniture and seating on the second floor to match the design currently in use at the City Hall Campus (Fire Station 50, City Hall, and the Annex’s first floor).
To maximize cost savings and streamline procurement, the City proposes to purchase all furnishings through the competitively bid State of Florida contract (No. 56120000-24-NY-ACS) and to award installation to Commercial Design Services. Leveraging this contract yields an average discount of 60.5% off manufacturers’ list prices for the selected furniture package.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:
The project will be funded from the approved Water & Sewer Department’s Capital Improvement Fund (Fund 431).
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the City Manager to issue a purchase order to Commercial Design Services (CDS) in the amount of $131,247.39, under State of Florida contract number 56120000-24-NY-ACS to purchase furniture, seating, and labor needed to outfit the second floor of the City Annex Building.
