Title

Authorize the Interim City Manager to Issue a Purchase Order to Bowman Gulf Coast, LLC for Limited Construction Engineering Services for the Collier Alternate Bike Lanes Project (south segment), in an amount not to exceed $62,010, Justin Martin, P.E., Director, Public Works

Body

BACKGROUND

The Collier Alternate Bike Lanes project is part of the Bike Lanes and Shared Use Path Master Plan approved by City Council, Collier County MPO, and FDOT.  The project consists of constructing on-road bicycle lanes along Peru Ave, Seagrape Ave, and Swallow Ave.  City Council awarded the construction contract in December; however, engineering services are not covered by the FDOT grant.  Engineering services for this project are covered by the City’s annual pay-go CIP plan for bike lanes and shared paths in the city budget.

The engineering construction services proposal is enclosed.  These services are required by FDOT’s Local Agency Partner program as part of the grant to meet project certification requirements.  Bowman Gulf Coast, LLC is the record engineer for this project and is a City of Marco Island continuing engineering services consultant under contract 2023-009.

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:  This project will be funded with the Bike Lanes & Shared Paths Design annual pay-go plan in the FY26 budget adopted by city council (specifically, account No. 300-5400-5410-606300-21030).

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff reviewed the proposal and the scope of work and recommends that City Council authorize the Interim City Manager to issue a purchase order to Bowman Gulf Coast, LLC in an amount not to exceed $62,010 for engineering construction services for the Collier Boulevard Alternate Bike Lanes Project (south segment).

POTENTIAL MOTION:

“I move to authorize the Interim City Manager to issue a purchase order to Bowman Gulf Coast, LLC in an amount not to exceed $62,010 for engineering construction services for the Collier Boulevard Alternate Bike Lanes Project (south segment) for $62,010.”
