BACKGROUND:
During the March 3, 2025 City Council meeting, Council members directed City staff to develop a structure for the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) by Resolution that meets the State of Florida requirements and City of Marco Island Advisory Committees and Boards procedures established in the Code of Ordinance.
Areas concerning establishment and operation may be determined by the municipality. In the City’s case, the Code of Ordinances for Boards and Committees set the framework in Section 2-201 of the City of Marco Island Code of Ordinances.
Attached is a memo that identifies the mission of the Committee, and the operating criteria that fulfills the minimum State of Florida requirements while addressing the bespoke needs of the Committee.

RECOMMENDATION: Approval of Resolution 25-15, creating the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee.
