Approving the Nomination of Kevin Dohm to Serve as the Marco Island Resident Representative on the Collier County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) - Joan Taylor, City Clerk

BACKGROUND:
The Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is comprised of citizens representing geographic areas, as well as citizens representing the disabled and minorities. These individuals make recommendations to the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Board from the public’s perspective on proposed Long Range Transportation Plans, individual projects, priorities for state and federal funding, and other transportation issues. There are 13 voting members, including one CAC seat allocated to Marco Island that corresponds with its MPO voting member. Citizens Advisory Committee members serve for 3 years and can be reappointed following the expiration of their term of office.
The MPO CAC requires an application process for candidate consideration; applications were accepted from January 31, 2025, to February 14, 2025. The open position was advertised through social media posts.
According to the Bylaws for the Citizens Advisory Committee of the Collier Metropolitan Planning Organization, Section III. B. 1. “Nominations for CAC members are recommended by the corresponding MPO member and ratified by the MPO board.”
Councilor Schwan is nominating Kevin Dohm as the CAC representative for Marco Island, term ending February 2028.

RECOMMENDATION: Approval of nomination.
