Title
City Code Compliance Process to Address “Out-of-Compliance” Landscaping & Other Conditions (Marco Island Code Compliance Department)
Body
BACKGROUND: At the Committee’s November, December, and January meetings, Committee Member Marv Needles raised concern and shared photographs of apparent commercial and residential property out-of-compliance conditions on Marco Island with members of the Beautification Advisory Committee.
At the Committee’s February 5, 2025 meeting, Committee Staff Liaison Justin Martin educated the Committee on the complainant-initiated process by which Code Compliance addresses "out-of-compliance" conditions on the Island. The Committee discussed, and settled upon, a process by which perceived "out-of-compliance" complaints could be initiated by members of the Beautification Advisory Committee.
Committee Staff Liaison Justin Martin extended an invitation to a member of the Code Compliance Department to address the Committee and encourage an alternative approach to reporting “out-of-compliance” commercial and residential landscaping (and other) conditions by members of the Beautification Advisory Committee.
