Winterberry Dr & Maples Ave Beach Access Enhancement

BACKGROUND: 

As reported by Committee Staff Liaison Justin Martin at the Beautification Advisory Committee’s February 5^th meeting, the awarding of the design contract for the Winterberry Dr. and Maple Ave. beach access pathways enhancement project is currently planned to go before the City Council for approval under the Consent Agenda (Item 7e) at its February 18^th meeting. This was an initiative begun by the Beautification Advisory Committee and endorsed by the City Council several years ago.

The City Council Agenda for the February 18^th meeting will be published later today and can be accessed at www.cityofmarcoisland <http://www.cityofmarcoisland/> > Our Government > Agendas and Minutes. The Agenda item summary is copied below. The actual proposal description is attached.

The City’s Fleet & Facilities Department is responsible for the execution of the project.

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT:  A portion of the funding came from an allocation from the Collier County Tourist Development Council (TDC). City Councilor Darrin Palumbo represents the City of Marco Island on the TDC.
