Title
Authorize the City Manager to Issue a Purchase Order to the Lowest Responsive and Responsible Bidder, Craneworks, Inc., for the Purchase of a Boom Truck in the Amount of $294,500.00 per ITB #2025-001 - Jeffrey Poteet, General Manager, Water & Sewer Department
Body

BACKGROUND:

The City's Water and Sewer Department (WS) requires a 17-ton boom truck to support a range of utility tasks, including pump replacements in wet well systems, lifting heavy machinery, unloading shipments, and assisting with seasonal projects like hanging Christmas decorations. The existing boom truck has become outdated, necessitating frequent repairs and extensive maintenance, with replacement parts increasingly difficult to source. Once the new boom truck is delivered, the old truck will be retired and sent to auction.

The funding for this purchase was approved in the Fiscal Year 2025 Capital Budget.

The bid process began on October 20, 2024, with a submission deadline of December 17, 2024. Notifications were sent to 68 potential suppliers, resulting in eight downloads of the bid package. By the deadline, three suppliers submitted bids. One additional bid was received after the bid opening on December 18, 2024, and was subsequently disqualified.

Below is a summary of the qualified bids received. Each bid includes a two-year/2,000-hour comprehensive warranty.
