Mackle Park Tree Donation - Next Steps (S. Connelly / M. Cory)

BACKGROUND: At the August 20, 2024 meeting of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee (PRAC), a presentation outlining the tree type and placement plan for the 75 trees that were donated by Marco Island residents Mr. & Mrs. John McGlade under the Beautification Advisory Committee’s Ten Thousand Trees in Ten Years Pilot Program was reviewed and discussed.
Member Michael Cory, at the Beautification Advisory Committee’s June 5, 2024 meeting, volunteered to spearhead the Beautification Advisory Committee’s publicity effort on the Mackle Park tree donation/planting initiative.
Feedback from the 8/20/24 PRAC meeting discussion, an update on Member Cory’s publicity plan, and the next steps for the Beautification Advisory Committee (BAC) action will be discussed at the BAC’s September 4, 2024 meeting.

RECOMMENDATION: Receive the report; participate in the determining the Committee’s next steps.
