Resolution - Approval of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the International Association of Firefighters, Local #2887 - Chris Byrne, Fire Chief, Fire-Rescue Department

BACKGROUND: 

Based on collective bargaining negotiations between the City of Marco Island and the International Association of Firefighters, Local #2887, newly certified Battalion Chief Bargaining Unit, both parties agreed to the terms of the attached Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), including a 5% salary increase for Battalion Chief bargaining unit members effective June 17^th and an additional 5% increase effective October 1, 2024. There are three (3) members of the Battalion Chief bargaining unit. A resolution outlining the agreement, the memorandum of understanding and staff memorandum are attached for city council review and approval.

FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: Approximately $9,500 for the June 17^th, FY24 5% wage adjustment and $ $29,900 for October 1^st, FY25 salary increase.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve Resolution 24-33 and Memorandum of Understanding as presented.
