BACKGROUND:
The project aims to replace the existing roof of the Marco Island City Hall building, which covers 6,364 square feet. City Hall was built in 1964. However, available drawings of the building show modifications of the structure in the 1980s.
Water intrusion, particularly around the upper-level windows of the building, and the visible deterioration of its conditions (e.g., loose gravel, exposed asphalt, minimal roof insulation, cracked penetrations, water ponding, damaged wall parapets, and other defects) led the Fleet and Facilities Management department to perform inspections by specialized contractors to assess the conditions of the roof and arrive at the conclusion that its replacement was necessary.
Advanced Roofing, Inc. has entered into a contractual arrangement with the City of Marco Island under RFQ #2023-030 for "Specialty General Contracting Services." With over 41 years of experience, Advanced Roofing, Inc. has established a strong reputation for providing high-quality roofing solutions.
FUNDING SOURCE / FISCAL IMPACT: The amount of the project is $165,510. There is $322,325 budgeted for City Hall improvements including the roof replacement.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the City Manager to award the roof replacement contract to Advanced Roofing, Inc. in the amount of $165,510.00.
