Appointment of City Council Chairman Jared Grifoni to the Collier County Tourist Development Council (TDC) - Joan Taylor, City Clerk

BACKGROUND:
The Collier County Tourist Development Council (TDC) was established in 1992 to make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) regarding a proposed plan of uses for tourist development tax revenues, for the effective operation of the special projects or uses of the tourist development tax revenues, and to review all expenditures of revenues from the tourist development trust fund. Membership consists of three Elected Officials, one from the Board of County Commissioners, one from the City of Naples, one from the City of Marco Island, up to four tourism industry owner/operators and two individuals involved in the tourism industry. Terms are four years. Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 9:00 a.m.
The current TDC member representing the City of Marco Island is Council Chairman Jared Grifoni. This TDC term is set to expire, April 21, 2024.
At the February 5, 2024, City Council Meeting, City Council members proposed that Chairman Jared Grifoni be nominated for reappointment to the TDC until the end of his City Council term. Upon the completion of Chair Grifoni’ s City Council term, another member will be nominated to represent Marco Island with the TDC .

RECOMMENDATION: Recommend the appointment of Chairman Jared Grifoni to the TDC.
